They still have a chunk of the goal to meet, and can use all the help they can. The game is on KickStarter, but is currently under the 72 hour mark. I’ve only seen the grassland/forest level, and the images of the desert level so far, so hopefully more levels are in the works for some variety. Currently in the demo, there’s the Normal Game (single player/tutorial), Sumo Showdown!, Rocket Challenge, and Checkpoint Race. The demo isn’t nearly as detailed, but the basics are there to give you an idea of the game.

The released images of the full game are actually rather pretty. There’s no background music in the demo - at least none that I heard - but hopefully there will be some addicting music to get your head bobbing as you race around destroying vehicles and stealing their parts. It feels like Starcraft, Minecraft, and Twisted Metal had a love-child a love child that steals guns from its enemies and races around crystals firing at everything that moves.

I can’t wait to see the full version of it. The customization is pretty easy, though it’s a bit glitchy in the demo. I satisfied myself by making Optimus Prime’s prospecting brother, Prospectus Prime, instead. Not going to lie, I was sorely tempted to build an Eiffel Tower vehicle! How I constructed my vehicle really did affect how fast my vehicle moved, how sharply it turned, and if I was in danger of toppling over from building it too tall. I was pleased to see a strong grasp of physics in such an early build, however. The controls were a bit too sensitive at first, but it is a pre-alpha build.
In the pre-alpha demo, I’ve only managed to play as GSO so far, which appears to be fairly standard. The vehicles that you can build depend on which corporations you have unlocked. Sounds easy, right? Not when other prospectors are there trying to gather resources as well. The premise of the game is simple: You’re sent to prospect alien planets in the wake of Earth’s natural resources being depleted.

The tutorial is quick and easy, and will pop back up any time you pick up a new piece to instruct you how to use it. I downloaded the demo myself and began to play around with it.

In development by the folks at Terra Tek Studios Ltd, the game has a pre-alpha demo available for download at Indie DB, as well as on Steam. The URL bit.ly/myTerraTech was missing from the tweet message template. If you’re looking for a fun project to back on KickStarter, look no further than TerraTech, a project described as a ‘physics-based vehicle construction and combat’ game.In Sumo battles, the digger scoops were not reset to their proper position. The word “SUMO” was not being displayed after the “3, 2, 1” countdown at the start of a Sumo battle. When loading a vehicle into Sumo design and refining the design, sometimes, the pieces used were not removed from the dispensers. In Sumo design mode, you could not exit beam mode properly (firing a weapon was a workaround). The game was crashing when trying to tweet a vehicle snapshot. In Sumo Showdown, self right vehicles, even if they are being pushed. In Sumo Showdown - Fight (Auto), if all vehicles are immobile and no longer inflicting any damage, then a countdown from 10 will start before a draw is declared. In Sumo Showdown - Fight (Auto), you can now rotate the camera by clicking and dragging the mouse. When tall objects such as trees, rocks and crystals obscure view of the vehicle, they now become semi-transparent.We've also included gamepad support for the first time and some more new vehicle pieces too. You can also play Sumo Showdown by yourself, pitting your vehicles against your friends' creations controlled by AI, or setup an AI only battle so that you can sit back and enjoy the carnage. Using the Twitter vehicle sharing feature introduced in our previous Demo, it's easy to share your vehicle with a friend and then head over to their place to take them on in person. Sumo Showdown is a single screen, 4 player, local multiplayer mode in which you're challenged to bring your best vehicle creations to face off in a duel to the death. The first TerraTech build to include the all-new Sumo Showdown local multiplayer mode.
